Weekend Stay at Azumi
Thanks to Deal Grocer, I was able to purchase
a deal for an overnight stay at Azumi Boutique hotel.
I’ve heard about this new hotel at Madrigal Business Park in
Alabang from a friend but haven’t really thought of where it was.
Azumi is this gray building with orange accents which makes
it pop located in front of Molito (at the back of Shell gas station beside Pacific Village) and can be easily reached
from both ends of Alabang-Zapote road (either coming from Zapote or Alabang).
My first impression was WOW! The hotel’s interior was very
clean, modern and uber chic. The black and white motif was my kind of style and definitely fits the boutique hotel vibe.
Check-in was easy as I already called in days before.
There’s a Php 1000 deposit which can also be used for dining at their in-house
restaurant, Romulo Café.
Note: They only give one access card, make sure to request
for one more if you're staying with someone.
We were given a room at the 14th floor which made
the balcony view awesome. The room is not that big so don’t expect too much.
Despite the size, it felt spacious for me (I guess because I’m small) and because the space was maximized. The room has a zen feel, no furnishings except
for the TV on the desk, a day bed with contrasting orange pillows, a
refrigerator, microwave and utensils (a pair of plates, silverware and
glass/cups). There’s even 2 closets and a safe to keep valuables. There’s an
extra pillow inside the closet, as well as slippers and toiletries were available.
Note: Hair dryers can be requested as this is not readily available.
If you feel you forgot something for your stay, there’s no need to worry because there’s a 711 and Puregold grocery in front which is a 2 – 3 minute walk. Also there’s Alabang Town Center and a little farther is Festival Supermall for your shopping needs. The hotel has a scheduled shuttle service, and you check the schedule at the front desk.
One thing I was excited about was the infinity pool at the
top. I’ve seen pictures of a friend of mine and I loved the view.
Reaching the Penthouse, I whipped out my phone because its selfie time. :)
Pool towels can be requested and should be returned before leaving the pool area. Also found at the top is their function room for events and gatherings and their A Villa which is their biggest room.
The pool is open til 10PM, perfect for that night swim
or for that picture of the Alabang skyline. Since its was around 8PM, my
friend Jai and I were the only ones there. I had to call the front desk (there’s no
available phone there) to have towels delivered. The staff was super kind enough to bring us
some.
Although we had lots of options outside the hotel, Jai and I preferred to try their restaurant which is Romulo Café, aptly named after one
of the Philippines’ former presidents, and serves Filipino food with a twist. Like the lobby, I loved the checkered
B&W floor and green pattered walls and couches, super sophisticated.
Note: Since we just came from the pool, and thinking that I
was checked-in anyway, I came down just wearing shorts and tank top. Make sure
to atleast dress nicely as there are still other patrons having dinner there.
Good thing I was wearing my nice watch and designer jewelry to save me :)
We ordered their sisig, which was served with quail eggs for starters and
their Liempo as a main course. Rice can be ordered per serving or for sharing. I loved their
sisig with mini quail egg sunny side up, nice and cute presentation. The liempo
was super delicious, crispy and was put in a sauce kinda like adobo which was good.
Since I used a Deal Grocer coupon, I have a discount on
their breakfast menu, Php 350 instead of Php 400. The breakfast choices were
limited though they have the usual soup, bread station, salad station, fruits
and a couple of breakfast items. I was happy that they had crispy bacon so I
didn’t mind the rest already, hahahaha.
Note: Restaurant closes at 10PM, after which probably you
can head over to ATC or Molito for the late dinner. Breakfast starts at 6AM.
After breakfast, I spent most of the remaining hours of my
stay at the pool. Thank God that weather was nice and sunny, I even felt like I
was gonna get a sun burn because of the nice sunny day.
Ofcourse, pool + beautiful weather = relaxation. Also, it wouldn't hurt to take a couple of pictures to share with friends.

Overall, I loved my stay at this very chic boutique hotel and would definitely purchase another deal if offered by Deal Grocer.
After check-out and going back home which is reality, I had to make myself ready again because I was meeting a friend for dinner at Alabang Town Center. Once I was there to my surprise, Eds brought Kaye which made it better, as they say, the more the merrier.

We couldn't decide on which wine to get good thing our server was kind enough to assist us and gave suggestions. We settled on a Chilean white wine to go with our meal.
Like some restaurants, they provide complimentary bread for starters. For our appetizer, we ordered their gambas and settled for their bacon pasta as the main course. Servings were big enough for the 3 of us.
We were enjoying our meal, our wine and conversation that we didn't realize the time. And the night wouldn't be complete if we didn't have any picture.
It was also Kaye's first time at ATC so we wanted to make sure we made it a fun experience for her. Smile!
I'm super thankful for this weekend, I was able to have a new experiences here at my stomping grounds, the south and shared them all with fabulous friends.
